Sacrifice

"And walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." Ephesians 5:2

Abraham the father of our faith, Jesus and many prophets of the Bible & Christians who really live by faith and see the TOTALITY of God are the ones that sacrifice. Whether we like it or not, whether we agree with this statement or not. But when we sacrifice with/for God we see his promises, our faith goes to another level. Remember when we had to give up certain bad habits, lifestyles certain friendships so we can be closer to God? That was a sacrifice, the difference between Christians and those who "claim"to be of God are the ones willing to sacrifice their will, the short term, pointless pleasures of this world and assume their faith in God.

"Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God." Hebrews 13:16
Why is Abraham the father of faith, why is he other than Jesus the greatest example we relate to as Christians for inspiration and glory? Because he lived his life as a sacrifice to God that he was willing to sacrifice his own son. God is testing us if we'll sacrifice the things we love so is Satan. We only see the true promises of God and live a great faith when and if we sacrifice we can be Abraham decedents. The Holy Spirit convicts us what to sacrifice on how we grow with God, I was never the Christian I could be because I never wanted to sacrifice my sins, the bad friends or the pleasures of this world. So I never saw the promises or really grew in my faith. I hope this blog is food for thought  remember Jesus sacrificed His life to save us. The least we could as Christians to sacrifice our life and pick up our own cross to serve Him like it says in Matthew 16:24.
