Our Faith Is Being Testing In This Pandemic

You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.   Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.     All these are the beginning of birth pains.     “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me.   At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other,     and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.     Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold,   but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.     And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. Matthew 24: 6-14  The above verses are what this pandemic of a virus has brought, such as wars/arguments between friends, family and partners where it gets tox

Serving The People

One keyword that I learnt in the faith is the term "serve" to be a great Christian, not only do we have to serve our sovereign Lord but we must also serve those around us. If we can't serve those around us then, unfortunately, we can't serve God, if we can't obey, respect, love those around us. When we think of the word serve we think of slavery, a butler or a maid slaving for their owner/employer. As this term can be really triggering to black people like myself because of our oppressive history we went through. This is not the case we know that these are the synonyms in the English, Oxford dictionary but to serve is to give a good service to your clients/customers, to be obedient to your parents, to be a good friend, being a great partner to your spouse or being a great parent to your kids or being a parent figure to your niece, nephew or godchildren. It's all good and well to be a good servant in our church or to your pastor but what good is that if you'

Accountability

So then each of us will give an account of himself to God. Romans 14:12 We as Christians do this thing where we blame everything on Satan, yes he's at fault for most of the messed up things on this earth and maybe our life however not everything! Satan can only entice, but he can't make you fornicate, lie or whatever sin we do. That's why it's important to take accountability because even though the serpent tempts, we decide to sin, make mistakes and do wrong!  We are too quick to play victim, the race, mental health card not that I'm here to dismiss peoples struggles. But we as Christians we have to learn to hold ourselves accountable, this is a sign of humbleness. Which many of us lack as God cannot exalt us as He wants to as  1st Peter 5:6  says. We have to be humble enough to own our mistakes, to own our bad habits and to own our sins. The mighty fall when they're proud as mentioned in  Proverbs 16:18.  A lot of us don't grow in our faith or our physical

Grudges

Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:31  A lot of us Christians including myself hold on to bitter feelings from the past it can stunt your growth in our faith, we all know that famous verse in the Bible where it says if we don't forgive, God won't forgive our transgressions,  Matthew 6 14-15.  "Ayo it's not easy, someone did something traumatic to me" Which I understand many terrible things happened to us, for our sanity we don't forgive the person for their sake we do it for our own. It doesn't make us weak somethings in this short life is not worth holding on to. Please when you forgive you'll be so free, last Saturday God told me to make peace with family members that I felt disrespected by, when I did what He told me to do, I cried with joy and ever since then I've felt
