The State Of Gospel Music
Gospel music is neither in a good nor bad place it's a genre that lacks balance, what I mean by this is, that gospel artists are either being so creative that they're breaking barriers and not being the one dimensional and linear genre it used to be or they're trying to follow the sound of today's generic sound. The scene needs to know whether the content, substance and lyrical subject glorify the Lord and If it doesn't then no artist should be making music, as much as gospel subgenre's like Christian rap & afro beats have slowly crept in where the mainstream masses know who we are and the world is noticing our scene it's also being slowly diluted into the pop sound where there's no difference between it being secular or gospel music.
To conclude my blog even though gospel music is reaching new heights and more & more of our artists are becoming successful and mixing with some of the best artists out, it's still not accessible, Christian music is not accessible, gospel awards shows are not accessible and there are not much gospel music platforms for the scene to grow it needs to be more accessible and we as Christians should be pushing this great genre that is a representation of the gospel hence it's named, music is the world's language and gospel music can and is saving souls as it should be, as the word says we should spread the gospel to the four corners of this earth, Mark 16:15.
