Is It Wrong To Party or Rave?

Image
There has always been this life-long debate in Christianity if partying is a sin? Some will say yes, some will say no but the real question is are you accused when you party? What does your discernment say when you rave?  To answer this question my answer is it depends on the context, for example, if you're a Christian who does photography, steward or works in a rave then no you're not, because you are working for money, but if you go to these environments to indulge in womanising, drugs, fornication and partying to the music of this world then yes as  Matthew 5:30  comprehends if something causes you to sin then you cut it off. Like I say to Christians if you're asking if something is sin ask yourself what does your conviction or the Holy Spirit tell you when you take part in these activities?  Topic's like this are very complex and diverse because there's no definitive answer, it's down to your conscience, your conviction, my personal opinion is that I'd a...

Our Faith Will Be Tested Through Temptation And Persecutions

Image
Christians have this silly notion that when you give your life to God, that life becomes easy. On the contrary, when you become a Christian life will become tough, everyone from the devil to family, even customers at your workplace will treat you unjustly, tempt, and persecute you.  There's always a testing time in anything when a restaurant becomes busy on a Saturday night when the villain is dominating the hero in the action film, it's not so different with a Christian is going through a difficult moment, Job, Gideon and even Abraham were tested and they overcame they may have lost battles to win the war but they overcame I'm not saying you will be the next Jesus or Gideon because I don't believe in this "name it, claim it" jargon but I do believe in being inspired by these stories and finding your testimony in testing times, pressure makes diamonds so let's are 24-carat ones or Cuban Links.  Being persecuted, tested, tempted is part and parcel of our fa...

Is it Church Hurt Or You Didn't Want To Be Held Accountable?

Image
Is it Church Hurt Or You Didn't Want To Be Held Accountable?    So He said to him,  “Why do you call Me good?   No one  is  good but One,  that is,  God.  But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.” 18  He said to Him, “Which ones?” Jesus said,  “‘You shall not murder,’ ‘You shall not commit adultery,’ ‘You shall not steal,’ ‘You shall not bear false witness,’   19  ‘Honor your father and  your  mother,’  and, ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’ ” 20  The young man said to Him, “All these things I have kept from my youth.  What do I still lack?” 21  Jesus said to him,  “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” 22  But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions. I had a "friend" the apostrophe meaning they're no long...

Forgiving Yourself

Image
The devil does this thing where he accuses us of our past sins, transgressions and mistakes, but thank God for grace, 2nd Timothy 1:9 as well as for not forgiving others who wronged us. Not forgiving yourself is just as bad.  Forgive yourself for being lazy, forgive yourself for hurting those around you, forgive yourself for anything you're beating yourself up about, accountability is one way so is begging God for forgiveness, we all have the chance to be redemptive you are not the same person you were yesterday. We have the chance to be new again in Christ!  We can't live in our shadow forever, we can't beat ourselves up and have pity parties, when you look at the story of Jesus, Judas who later on betrayed took his own life because the guilt was too much, Matthew 27:3-5 but he had many chances but did not take it, today every day is chance to be new, to make things right you made a mistake learn from it, you sinned work on not sinning again and forgive yourself!!! We ar...

Christianity Has Failed Many Demographics We Have Not Followed The Way Of The Good Samaritan

Image
The word says to go out and spread the gospel Mark 16:15 , it also says to love your neighbour, Mark 12:31 , as yourself so why is it we are in a generation where Christianity is doing neither? We've let down black people we approved the slavery law and when it comes to black issues and racial injustice we're complicit, we've let down women where sexism and misogyny are rife in the church where oppression on them is as high as ever, and we've let down those who are from the LGBTQ and those who have mental health. The church is meant to be a lifeline for the hopeless a voice for the voiceless but yet for political reasons or lack of care the church fails to help many people this is wrong, blood will be on our hands if we don't bring hope, resolution and faith to these people but yet all the church does is demonise these issues and come with lazy solutions like "just pray and focus on salvation issues"  Read your Bible women were used to fight for equal righ...

Social Media Detox Challenge

Image
I challenge all Christians to take a social media break and concentrate on their faith. In modern-day times as much as there's fornication, greed and the lusts of this world, social media is another form that is blocking a Christian's spiritual life.  "But why are you telling us this Ayo? Social media is a bit of fun" Just to emphasise on my beginning statement, social media which can be a great ally, can also be a sworn enemy, with false doctrines being spread on line, hours of scrolling on hot topics and people's posts for hours on end social media can be a hindrance and may lead you to have an addiction to it, which is a sin called gluttony that's mentioned in Romans 13:14 , so my challenge whether you choose to accept as it's not by force is to take a social media detox it can be as long as you like, it can be a day, a week or month I do 3 weeks, 3 or 4 times a year and the way God speaks to me is so clear, so many revelations. So instead of scrollin...

The More We Invest, The More We Are Close To God

Image
With anything in life, we need to invest heavily to be good at, be successful and be great at something, entrepreneurs investing in more business to get richer, athletes investing more time in training themselves to be at the top of their game, so as Christians we need to be very invested in our faith.  In what ways can we invest in our faith?  . Going to church. . Reading your Bible. . Fasting.  . Fellowshipping in your weekday Bible study and being part of the Christian union in your workplace, university or college. Praying consecutively every day.  Watching and reading Christian content.  . Evangelising Jesus to people.  The mistake many believers make is that we believe going to church is enough, it's the be-all and end-all, but it's not the same way we need to find our body with food and drink, the same notion we need to have in our spiritual the more we invest the more spiritually strong we are, I'm not saying be fanatic, extreme and overzealous like...

Your Work's Do Not Only Save You

Image
Not to scare anyone, but do you know how many Christian's are in hell? Many!!! They went to church like us, were in choirs like us, very active in church and very bold and apologetic about their faith like many of us, but they lacked one thing the most import requirement we need to have to get to heaven, they were not saved, and that's why they lost their salvation.  Don't get it twisted with my title, yes we need to exercise our faith such as going to church, reading our Bible, going to a Christian union in our educational institute or whatever extra-curriculum we do in our church, we need to be saved, we need to be right with God, we need to have our salvation in order. As James 2:18-20 says "18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have worked.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. 19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that ...

Sin is Sin, There's No Hierarchy

Image
In all my 16 years of worship, I'll never get why we categorize sin? We put sins like paedophilia, killing, rape and terrorism in the highest tier of sin, but yet we see telling a white lie, not honouring our parents or watching live T.V with no licence as a lesser sin, sin is sin!!!!! When you look at the ministry of Jesus He held the woman who was with a man who was not her husband, the same as the tax collector who was overcharging people for their taxes if we don't repent from our sins and we were to die now we are going to hell whether you, God forbid raped someone or told a little lie on your CV for example, yes the consequences are way much higher for raping someone, whereas lying on your CV is not a heinous crime, but God will hold us accountable for every sin we do!!!! Look at  1st Corinthians 6:9-11  the verses state those who worship idols to people who get drunk won't go to heaven, it never said ONLY rapists, killers or drug dealers won't go to heaven lets l...

Be The Best For The Glory Of God

Image
I believe that one of the best ways to bring people to God, is that our lives glorify Him, how do we do that? Is by being the best at what we do.  I'm not saying be the best for arrogance and for self-glorification, do it because you want to show the Almighty in our lives, being the best can, be being the best in your workplace, having a successful life God wants us to be the best, be great and be successful so it's easier to bring people to God, people see success and want it too, people see greatness and want to be great too, this is why we should be the best to glorify God.  Just to conclude when you read the gospels from Matthew to John, Jesus did these miracles so people can see the proof that God is real, this is why we should have a great quality of life to glorify our saviour to show proof that Jesus is real and works in our lives, this is why Jesus doesn't want us to be ill He wants to heal us, Jesus doesn't want us to have a broken family He wants to restore...

How To Evangelise/Why I feel Street Evangelism Is Not Effective In The 21st Century

Image
This may seem controversial, it probably is, but I just feel there are more effective ways of preaching the gospel, in today's blog. I'll be giving my opinion on what other ways you can go about evangelising effectively.  I believe the days of street evangelism are not effective and long gone, I'm not saying don't do it, what I'm saying is there are better ways to do it, I believe that when we do street evangelism in this day and era, people are not interested, people are busy shopping, going out and unfortunately will throw away the leaflets, newspaper of your church away, in a sad reality people don't want to hear it, because they're too busy worrying about other things, "So Ayo what are others ways we can evangelise?" Well, you can do the following; . Invite people you know, and hand out an olive branch, don't force them but always offer them to come to church with you, and leave the offer in their court.  . Make an online platform where you...

Even Jesus Had A Social Life!

Image
Many Christian's don't have a social life and I don't know why? I was in this weird space in my faith where I was ALWAYS in church, I missed family birthdays, career opportunities and even got in trouble with family because I wasn't doing my duties at home, as they say you can't do charity outside in the world, if it's not done at home first! This is wrong because we as Christian's need to have a social life we need balance!  When you look at the Bible, the reason why Jesus's ministry was so effective was that He related to humans, He did what other humans did, such as going out to eat with people, making house visits the first recorded miracle, in the scriptures our Saviour did was in a wedding! Where He turned water into wine,  John 1-11.  I feel many factors like church leaders expecting you to be in church 24/7, Christians thinking the more we are in church the more spiritual we are or we've become so focused on a works faith-based faith, this is...

The "Best Church" In The World Doesn't Exist

Image
As I was looking for a verse for this week's blog this verse stood out to me, as I read in another blog that God has to rebuke, correct and humble the church, just to put us in our place, to show we aren't perfect, sometimes as Christians we are proud and arrogant and why do I say this? Because we as Christians keep debating on who has the best church in the world? But there's no such thing  In Revelations 2:5 the 7 churches in Asia were rebuked and held accountable because they got complacent, & thought they were doing well, until they were rebuked, and this is what I see today we get complacent in our faith, don't hold our pastors and church authorities accountable, but have the cheek to argue we have the best church in the world, if it's not Church A arguing with Church Q on whose the best, it's denomination vs denomination every church is great, every denomination is great who cares on what church is the best? Every church has their weaknesses and thei...

Money Is Not Always The Only Way Of An Offering To God

Image
When we think of the term offering we think of finical donations, but an offering can be a lot of things it can be what we have our focus on, giving gifts to people on their milestones or what we prioritise in our life.  James 2:26  echoes what today's blog is about, our faith that has no works is dead so in liegeman terms our faith is an offering, going to church, giving our offerings & tithes, being in a church group, bringing/evangelising people to Jesus, spreading the word of God, being baptised and whatever we do in our walk with God are all offerings to God it's not always the tithe and offerings we give in our respective churches, our spiritual life are reflections of our offering to God whether we are strong, lukewarm or weak in our faith. So as Christians let's give a great offering to God.  When you think about when God sent Jesus to this earth to die on the cross for us, that was an offering, God creating this world was an offering to us and God blessing us...

Top 5 Bad Habits We Need To Eradicate In Our Faith

Image
We all have bad habits as Christians it's either they make or break our faith, turns others away from the faith here are the top 5 bad habits we need to eradicate from our walk with God.  Being judgmental We judge others who live in sin, or don't have the same faith we have, being judgmental is a terrible trait to have as we can put others of from giving their life to God, we don't look loving or caring when we judge others.  Coming late to church This is another terrible trait to have we are not late to appointments, work or meeting up with friends so why are we late for God?! Yes, things happen like being stuck in traffic but when you're constantly being late for God you are ruining your offering for God.  Spreading rumours  We've all been guilty of this including myself which I'm working on, spreading gossip can incur church hurt on others and make them leave the faith, if you hear gossip you can either ignore it, politely decline to have the conversation o...
